The design of the building began in 1941 by architects V. Marukov and N. Kostin from the "Soyuzsportproject" institute, but construction was halted due to the war. It was only in 1974 that the Sports Palace opened its doors, receiving the name of V. I. Lenin.In 1993, the swimming pool was leased, but soon fell into disrepair and became hazardous. As a result, the swimming pool ultimately collapsed, and now an abandoned area occupies the site.
