Aibek Junushaliev: A road will be built around the local cemetery in Novopavlovka

At a meeting with residents of the MTU "Novopavlovka," the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, discussed important issues related to the cemetery and road construction.

The planned Profsoyuznaya Street is set to pass through the cemetery area, which contains 1,364 graves. The mayor noted that from 2021 to 2024, more than 50 illegal burials were registered here. According to him, many people violated the rules by placing graves too close to each other and in the path of the future road.

To clarify the situation, the city mayor conducted consultations with the clergy in advance. "We contacted the bishop and the mufti, and they confirmed that in such cases, reburials are possible," Aibek Junushaliev said. He added that the actions of the administration comply with the legislation that allows for the relocation of remains in case of violations of sanitary norms.

The mayor expressed concern about sanitary safety in the area, as work with heavy machinery near unauthorized burials could damage old graves. This, in turn, creates a risk of an infectious zone and the onset of epidemics.

To avoid negative consequences, a decision was made to build the road around the cemetery. However, this requires freeing up part of the territory:

Currently, the authorities have suspended new burials in this area. The mayor acknowledged that there is no alternative land in this vicinity, so the municipality is actively searching for plots to establish a new cemetery.

"In this situation, there are no winners or losers," Aibek Junushaliev concluded the meeting, emphasizing that the administration is trying to find a balance between preserving the memory of the deceased and developing urban infrastructure.
