The city administration of Osh plans to return the abandoned "Turbase" to its balance and renovate it for children's recreation. This information was announced by the press service of the city administration.

According to the provided data, steps are currently being taken to transfer the "Turbase," which is located on the territory of the municipal management of Kurmanjan-datka, to the jurisdiction of the city administration.

"On February 8, the city leadership gave the appropriate instructions," the press service reports.

The mayor noted that the current condition of the building leaves much to be desired, emphasizing the need to transfer the facility to the city's balance and conduct major repairs.

— It is urgent to transfer this building to the city's balance and renovate it, — the mayor noted.

— This building belongs to the trade unions, doesn't it? Gradually, everything is being transferred into private hands. These buildings have been here for 40 years — since the collapse of the Soviet Union. There is not a single sanatorium for children in our city. Previously, it was a tourist base. On that side, there is a magnificent garden. If we could manage it, we would conduct a complete renovation and create a sanatorium for children. The canal nearby — everything is going to waste. The building is solid, very well built. It's a pity that it is so neglected. There are three blocks here, aren't there? — the mayor added.

— Two blocks can be used for dormitories, and one for a dining hall. Look at this pathetic sight. There is a shower in every room, — added Vice Mayor Sonunbek Junusubayev.

— Everything is fine, Sonunbek Kalmatovich. It's ready — take a look. Three-room suites with a balcony that overlooks the river and the canal... If this building comes to us, it will be an excellent sanatorium, Nurbek. Children will be able to come for recreation. If this continues for another 10 years, the building will simply collapse, and the remaining parts will be sold off. It's state property, but no one is taking care of it — look, — the mayor continued.

— It was still functioning in 2005, — said the director of the municipal transport enterprise of Osh, Nurbek Ismailov.

— In 2005? — the mayor clarified.

— Yes, — Ismailov replied.

— Water is already starting to leak. Look: the toilet and shower are separate — excellent conditions. But the roof needs urgent replacement. If children stay for 10 days, we can accommodate about 300 children in 10 days, and almost a thousand in a month. In three months, we could host nearly three thousand children. There is a great garden here, and the terrain is also wonderful, — said the mayor.

“Currently, the 'Turbase' is under the management of the trade union committee. For 40 years, the facility has not undergone major repairs, leading to its neglect and dilapidation.

In the future, it is planned to transfer the facility to the city's balance, carry out its renovation, and provide services to the population as a municipal sanatorium. This could become an important socially oriented facility for the residents of Osh,” the message emphasizes.
