The minister warned: some livestock markets will be closed
The deputy emphasized that the distance to the market in Kemin is 90 km from Issyk-Ata, making it inconvenient for local residents. In response, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, responsible for water resources and agriculture, Bakyt Torobaev pointed out that the decision to create new markets is made by local authorities.
“If sanitary norms and conditions are met, then opening is possible. We only monitor compliance with the requirements. As for the closure of the market in Tokmok, we issued an order and even offered financial assistance to eliminate the identified violations. However, despite the warnings, nothing changed over the year, and the market was closed,” Torobaev explained.
According to him, among the 48 livestock markets operating in the country, many do not meet the necessary standards.
“Such facilities will be closed, and I want to remind you of this,” he added.
