In Cholpon-Ata, work has begun on the construction of a new bypass road with a length of 14.5 kilometers. This route, located at the foot of the mountains, is intended to reduce the load on the center of the resort city during the peak tourist season.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications reports that the project is being implemented at an accelerated pace and is expected to be completed by September, when the World Nomad Games will kick off on the shores of Issyk-Kul.

The agency specifies that the new bypass road will become part of the updated traffic scheme in the resort area.

The project includes the creation of a road surface, filling of the base, drainage works, slope reinforcement, and the installation of engineering structures. The road will be designed for year-round operation.
