On February 8, 1961, Bishkek (then known as Frunze) faced a record low temperature. This is reported by the "Weather and Climate" resource.
On that day, a temperature minimum of −22.6 degrees was recorded.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, the warmest February 8 occurred in 2006, when the thermometer rose to +19.2 degrees.

The "Weather and Climate" service collects information about weather conditions around the world, recording temperature records for each day based on daily resolution data. In Bishkek, such data has been collected from 1936 to 2024, and records dating back to 1898 are used to identify weather anomalies.

The average monthly temperature in February in the capital is usually −0.5 degrees.
Among all observations, the coldest was February 1931, when the average temperature was −15.3 degrees.
Meanwhile, the warmest February was recorded in 2021, where the average temperature reached +3.9 degrees.

According to meteorological forecasts, on February 8, Bishkek is expected to have partly cloudy weather with light rain and wet snow. During the day, the temperature will rise to +10 degrees, while at night it will drop to −4.
