In her proposal, she emphasizes the need to introduce a provision that wage indexing will be carried out in connection with the increase in consumer prices for goods and services, which should contribute to raising the real income level of workers.
The bill includes the following provisions:
- in budgetary institutions, indexing will be carried out according to established laws and regulations;
- in the private sector, the conditions and frequency of indexing will be determined by the collective agreement.
In the justification for the bill, it is emphasized that the previous version of the Labor Code, adopted in 2004, contained a provision on indexing; however, it was abolished with the introduction of the new code in 2025.
The deputy also noted that from 2014 to 2024, the consumer price index increased by 68.2%, which negatively affected the purchasing power of citizens.
