The cherry blossom festival in Japan has been canceled due to the bad behavior of tourists
The cherry blossom festival, which has been held annually in Japan, has been canceled this year. The reason for this decision is the issues with tourist behavior, as reported by Kyodo News.
The authorities of Fujiyoshida, located at the foot of the great Mount Fuji, stated that this decision is related to the increase in the number of tourists who violate behavioral norms and create inconveniences for local residents.

Due to the large influx of people, serious traffic jams occur on the streets, and there is also a problem with garbage left by tourists. Residents of the city expressed dissatisfaction that some tourists even trespassed into private gardens and used them as toilets.

Fujiyoshida attracts tourists with its picturesque views of Mount Fuji and magnificent blooming cherry blossoms, making the cancellation of the festival particularly sad for many.
“We made the decision not to hold the festival, which has taken place in our city for the last ten years, to protect the rights and comfort of our citizens,” said the mayor of Fujiyoshida.
