Evgeny Kochetov, holding the position of Deputy Minister of Culture and Information, stated that the ministry will pay attention to the work of Kazakhstani performers that address the themes of bride kidnapping and forced marriage. This was reported by Tengrinews.kz.
Efforts to combat bride kidnapping have intensified in the country, yet songs continue to be released that romanticize such actions. The deputy minister noted that the state will monitor such works.
This topic was previously discussed in the Mazhilis in the context of the draft law "On the Prevention of Offenses." Deputy Murat Abenov emphasized that some Kazakhstani series contain phrases that, in his opinion, may justify the abduction of girls.

Kanat Iskakov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information, announced planned amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses that will introduce liability for the distribution of offensive content, including profanity. The ministry is also working with experts and public organizations to avoid contradictions between state policy and what is broadcast on screen.

In July 2025, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a law establishing penalties for bride kidnapping. Additionally, provisions against bride kidnapping and forced marriage were included in the draft of the new Constitution.
