The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, has updated the decree "On the Introduction of State Monopoly on the Training of Specialists in the Field of Medicine."

According to the new provisions, private medical educational institutions can now, after successful accreditation, enter into international agreements with universities in the USA to implement joint educational programs and projects for the training of medical and pharmaceutical specialists.

It is worth noting that decree No. 250, issued on August 28, 2025, established a state monopoly on the training of medical personnel, designating the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I. Akhunbaev as the key institution with exclusive rights to educate specialists in higher medical and pharmaceutical education, as well as for retraining and continuing education of medical and scientific workers.

The decree also states that private educational organizations with the necessary resources, but not meeting licensing or accreditation requirements, may conduct only pre-university preparatory courses or educational-clinical bases under the supervision of KSMU.

Furthermore, the legal status of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. Yeltsin within the framework of intergovernmental agreements remains unchanged.
