The Tobacco Law in the Kyrgyz Republic will be tightened: hookah can only be smoked with a license
According to the proposed amendments to the law "On the Protection of Citizens' Health from the Consequences of Tobacco and Nicotine Consumption," the use of hookahs, shishas, and narghiles will be completely prohibited in public places. The only exception will be specially equipped premises that have obtained the appropriate license, have a ventilation system, and allow entry only to individuals over 18 years old.
Furthermore, changes are proposed to be made to the law "On the Licensing and Permitting System," which will make the provision of hookah services a licensed activity. This means that establishments wishing to operate as hookah lounges will be required to obtain a separate license for their operations.
