On February 5, 2026, a meeting was held in Bishkek dedicated to issues of interaction between local authorities and non-governmental organizations in supporting people with disabilities.
The Department of Social Development of the Bishkek City Hall organized this event to improve coordination and find practical solutions to enhance the quality of life for this category of citizens.
Among the participants were Deputy Mayor Victoria Mozgacheva, Director of the Department of Social Development Aizada Junusova, her deputy Larisa Gubina, as well as representatives from more than 25 NGOs, including the Public Organization "KOS and KOG", the Foundation "Hear Me", the Foundation "Together for Health", the Charitable Foundation "Zhanyrtyu", the Center for Hearing and Speech Development, the Public Organization "Ardi", the Republican Independent Association of Women with Disabilities, and others.
The project for the digitalization of lists of people with disabilities was presented by the head of the social department of the Public Organization "KOS and KOG" Ermek Dzhusupov. The main idea of the project is to create a unified database, which will significantly improve the social services for this group of the population. Participants discussed the presented project, offered their ideas, and outlined paths for further cooperation.
During the discussion, an open dialogue took place, with an exchange of opinions and informal communication. As a result, the meeting participants emphasized the need to strengthen partnerships between government bodies and NGOs, as well as to work together on updating data about people with disabilities and creating practical support mechanisms.
