Minister Oruntaev reported on the bankruptcy of the construction company "Emakom"
Oruntaev pointed out the presence of problematic sites both in Bishkek and Osh. Some of them are at the stage of unfinished construction, while others have been completed but not put into operation. Since last year, the ministry has been addressing the issue of commissioning those houses where construction has been completed and where citizens are already residing. For a number of projects, the problem has been resolved.
Regarding those sites where construction has been halted, the minister noted that the president has given relevant instructions, and decisions will be made in the near future.
The head of the Ministry of Construction also stressed the importance for citizens to check developers before purchasing housing and to avoid investing in companies that do not have sufficient financial resources.
It is worth noting that issues with the company "Emacom" have been discussed for several years. In September 2024, the capital's police detained Emilbek Jusupov, the former head of the company and ex-deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, in connection with complaints from clients to law enforcement agencies.
According to the police, investors suffered material damage of over 60 million soms. A criminal case has been initiated regarding this matter under Article 209 of the Criminal Code on "Fraud in especially large amounts."
