The Minister of Health proposes that the state provide hemodialysis services itself
The minister responded to questions from deputies regarding the shortage of hemodialysis centers in some regions of the country, noting that currently such services are offered by private medical institutions.
“Private clinics meet 90 percent of the needs. We use outsourcing, and the state allocates 6,500 soms for each procedure. I believe that hemodialysis should be returned to the hands of the state, as patients express dissatisfaction with the quality of services and the condition of equipment in some private clinics. Annually, about 4 billion soms are allocated for hemodialysis,” he explained.
Dosmambetov also reported that the possibility of creating hemodialysis centers in areas where they are absent is being considered if the services are brought under state control.
For reference, in 2017, the Ministry of Health began reducing hemodialysis departments in state hospitals and launched a program based on public-private partnerships, under which hemodialysis services began to be provided by private clinics.
