The head of the department of NCODM shared the news
According to information from Sultan Stambekov, the head of the pediatric oncology department at NCODM, after the visit of the Minister of Health, tests for C-reactive protein and procalcitonin for young patients are now conducted free of charge and without interruptions. He reported this in an interview with "Kabar".
However, unresolved issues remain for the department. For example, effective transportation of blood components requires a vehicle with a driver. Funding is also needed to organize meals for parents who are constantly with their children. Work is underway on a project for a boarding house for children from the regions, so that during the intervals between treatment cycles, they can stay on-site, preventing possible complications and loss of medical control.
The minister's visit also contributed to improving the situation with the supply of vital medications.
"We held a working meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Health and 'Kyrgyzpharmacy'. Almost all issues were resolved within two weeks, and the necessary medications arrived at the department. In general, we have most of the medications in stock. Problems arise only in cases where certain medications are unavailable from manufacturers. First-line medications are mostly provided," Stambekov emphasized.
As for second-line medications, these are more expensive technologies that are often not fully subsidized by the government worldwide," he added.
