A regular reader of VB.KG contacted the editorial office with concern about the increasing number of women with small children engaged in begging in the Orto-Sai market area. She noted that almost every ten meters, such women can be seen asking for alms while holding infants in their arms.
“During my walk through the market, I counted about eight such women. They are clearly not locals, and their appearance does not indicate a state of distress, which raises certain suspicions. The question arises, where did they come from in such numbers and for what purpose?” — shares her observations the city dweller.
Previously, residents of the capital also noticed groups of people engaged in organized begging in popular places; however, the situation at this market has become particularly alarming. The author of the appeal urges law enforcement agencies and social services to pay attention to this problem, check the legality of these individuals' stay in the country, and find out under what conditions the children used for collecting donations from passersby are living.
