"Zhubaylar": Sergey Kalishchuk converted to Islam at 12, and at 25 married a Kyrgyz girl
Sergey Kalishchuk, born in 1995 in Toktogul, Jalal-Abad region, accepted Islam at the age of 12 and chose the Muslim name Abdullah. He currently lives in the village of Belovodskoye, located in the Moscow district of Chui region, where he works as a car blogger and sells cars. He has a secondary education — he completed 9 grades.
“In 2020, I got married at the age of 25. I met my future wife through my friend's sister. She impressed me from the very first meeting, and I immediately told her, ‘I will marry you.’ We met on May 25, and by June 25, we had already had our wedding,” Sergey shared.
The wedding took place during the pandemic, so there was no lavish celebration, and many relatives could not attend. The ceremony was held according to Kyrgyz traditions. My wife's name is Aidana Kalishchuk (née Abdullaeva), she was born in 1997 and is from Osh. Now she carries my last name.
Our marriage received approval from all relatives: my mother supported us, and my father-in-law and mother-in-law were also in agreement — it was my wife who had the conversation with them and smoothed everything over. During our time together, we have never quarreled and live in complete harmony,” he added.
Sergey noted that Aidana does not speak Russian very well, and his mother does not speak Kyrgyz. “Nevertheless, my wife communicates with her in Kyrgyz, and my mother responds in Russian. Their conversations look quite amusing,” he noted.
He also added that the traditions of Aidana's family were not a surprise to him, as he has been living in Kyrgyzstan for a long time and is familiar with local customs. In his free time, Sergey is passionate about cars and dreams of being able to benefit the people of Kyrgyzstan in the future,” he shared.
