At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, initiatives for the establishment of solar panel manufacturing in Kyrgyzstan were discussed. Deputy Altynbek Kylchayev raised the issue of current efforts to launch such enterprises in the country.
In response, Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov stated that there are currently no solar panel manufacturing plants in the republic, but work in this direction has already begun.
Kylchayev noted that quartzite is necessary for the production of solar panels, from which monocrystalline silicon is produced. He believes that it is possible to organize the production of technical quartzite, polycrystalline silicon, and monocrystalline silicon based on the State Enterprise "Kristall".
"Many regions express a desire to install solar panels. I have already held negotiations with designers: approximately 1 billion soms of investment will be needed to launch production. In addition to solar panels, the production of other goods is also possible. One plant can provide jobs for about 6,000 people, and a total of four such enterprises are planned to be built," the deputy stated.
The deputy minister added that investors are showing interest in the implementation of solar panels, and the ministry is ready to support such initiatives.
