In the city of Karakol, L. Tolstoy Street has been renamed in honor of a former parliament deputy.

In Karakol, there have been changes to the name of a street: Leo Tolstoy Street has been renamed to Abdysh Moldakunov Street. This decision was made at the XVI session of the city council.

As Ermek Abdyshyev, the son of Abdysh Moldakunov, explained, his father was born in 1941 and raised four children. After graduating from the Frunze Polytechnic Institute in 1963, he began his career and later held leadership positions in the transportation sector in the Issyk-Kul and Talas regions.

Abdysh Moldakunov was awarded the title of "Honored Worker of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic" for his achievements over many years and received numerous awards, including the "For Labor Distinction" badge by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

Additionally, he was elected several times as a deputy of the parliament of the Kyrgyz SSR, representing the interests of the Issyk-Kul and Talas regions.

Abdysh Moldakunov passed away in 2010 and was a personal pensioner at the time of his death.
