At the meeting, entrepreneurs expressed their concern over the lack of clear information regarding the timelines and conditions of the move. As they noted, contradictory rumors are circulating among them, which heightens their anxiety. The traders did not know when exactly the relocation would take place, whether the old market would be closed, and what the conditions for new trading spots would be.
One of the participants in the meeting reported a significant decrease in customer traffic at the Osh market: the flow of visitors has diminished, and sales volumes have dropped, making it impossible to cover current expenses. Despite this, traders continue to receive fines, although there have been no official directives to close the market.
Traders noted that responsibility for the problems that have arisen is constantly shifted to different structures, resulting in their inability to obtain clear answers.
In response to the questions raised, Kanibek Tumanbaev assured that the authorities do not plan a sudden or forced closure of the Osh market. He emphasized that the relocation would only be possible after the construction of the new market is completed and all necessary conditions for traders' operations are created.
Tumanbaev also noted that trading at the Osh market should continue until the new site is ready. The relocation will be carried out gradually and in an organized manner to avoid disrupting business and causing loss of income. All decisions regarding the move will be officially communicated to entrepreneurs.

Discussing complaints about unclear fines, Tumanbaev noted that the market continues to operate officially, and the oversight of compliance with trading rules falls under the jurisdiction of local authorities. He assured that traders' appeals would be further reviewed in conjunction with the city administration to avoid undue pressure on entrepreneurs.
The head of the President's Office also emphasized the importance of the Osh market, noting that for many families, it is the only source of income.
According to him, the authorities are interested in ensuring that the relocation process occurs without social conflicts.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of 2023, the authorities of Bishkek have been discussing plans to relocate the Osh market. A new trading complex is being built in the northern part of the capital, outside the central zone of the city. The project includes covered pavilions, storage facilities, and parking.
At the end of January 2026, information emerged about the start of the implementation of trading spaces at the new location. However, entrepreneurs express concerns that the relocation may be accompanied by the closure of the old market before the new one is fully ready, as well as that new trading spots will be provided on a paid basis.
