The U.S. Government Expands Security Cooperation with Kyrgyzstan

At the Ministry of Defense base in Koi-Tash, representatives of the U.S. Central Command, including the Air Force Central Command and the Montana National Guard, conducted an annual working group in collaboration with the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan. The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the military contact plan for the fiscal year 2027, as reported by the press service of the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

This event marked an important step in strengthening military cooperation, laying the groundwork for future collaboration.

Over the course of two days, participants will focus on detailed planning of upcoming events for experience exchange, as well as defining common goals and objectives aimed at enhancing security and stability in Kyrgyzstan.

In her opening remarks, Deputy Chief of Mission Liz Zentos highlighted the 30-year partnership between the Montana National Guard and the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan. Since the establishment of the partnership in 1996, it has contributed to the development of strong and reliable relationships based on trust and common goals.

Liz Zentos emphasized: “We are pleased to have the opportunity to improve and optimize our military contact plans for 2026 and 2027. This event is significant for ensuring mutual understanding and establishing points of contact.”

These exchanges of experience and joint efforts illustrate the shared commitment of the U.S. and Kyrgyzstan to ensuring regional stability and security.
