In light of the recent tragedy that occurred in Sokuluk, where children lost their lives, plans are underway to install warning signs near bodies of water, reservoirs, and other potentially dangerous locations. This was reported by Mirbek Shermatov, head of the educational and research center at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, during a broadcast on Birinchi Radio.
Shermatov emphasized that visiting such places should not be done alone and that it is essential to inform loved ones. Parents are strongly advised to restrict children's access to such sites. He also noted that dangerous situations can arise not only for children but also for adults.
In the event of an emergency, it is important not to take risks if there are doubts about one's abilities, and it is better to seek help immediately. Ministry of Emergency Situations representative Beyshenbek Stalbekov also discussed the immediate actions to take in case of drowning: it is necessary to perform artificial respiration, elevate the victim's head, and administer heart massage.
Experts highlighted the importance of adhering to safety measures during the winter period. Citizens were urged to be cautious while riding on inflatable tubes, skis, and snowboards. In areas under the control of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Chui Region, informational materials with safety recommendations and actions in emergency situations have been distributed. Before heading to the mountains or gorges, citizens are advised to check the situation in advance and monitor notifications from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Additionally, the broadcast discussed the issue of designing buildings with consideration for seismic resistance. Shermatov noted that when constructing residential buildings, it is essential to strictly follow building codes, consult with professionals, and take into account the recommendations of the Institute of Seismology when selecting materials and assessing the safety of the site.
