Janibek Abirov called for a review of the salaries of TOP and MOP
Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Janibek Abirov, expressed concern that in light of the upcoming salary increases for teachers, the junior and technical support staff are being overlooked.
He reminded that on December 25, President Sadyr Japarov announced plans to double teachers' salaries starting in April. However, according to the deputy, representatives of the technical and junior support staff, who are responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and the technical condition of schools, have already approached him.
Abirov pointed out that in one of the capital's schools, workers such as technicians, security guards, janitors, and cafeteria staff receive only 8,448 soms with a coefficient of 1.20. Meanwhile, the salary of a secretary is 8,800 soms, the supply manager's salary is 12,320 soms, and for some employees, the salary actually drops to 5,500 soms.
The deputy emphasized that considering current prices and the level of inflation, living on 8,000 – 8,500 soms in Bishkek is becoming practically impossible.
He urged the government, if there are no plans to increase salaries for TOP and MOP in April, at least to review the coefficients or consider the possibility of a separate salary increase for this category of workers.
It is also worth noting that at one of the meetings of the Jogorku Kenesh, the head of government, Adylbek Kasymaliev, stated the intention to prioritize salary increases for technical and junior support staff in 2026.
