The incident occurred in the private narcological institution "Path to Life"
At a meeting of parliament, deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Suyunbek Omurzakov reported that, according to his information, a tragedy occurred at the rehabilitation center "Path to Life," which was previously mentioned in the materials of the GKNB: one of the patients died as a result of abuse.
He emphasized that the facts of abuse in this institution are already known to the public and proposed a thorough investigation.
Omurzakov also noted the need to compile a list of all patients who underwent treatment in this center and to interview their relatives. If the facts of violence are confirmed, the results should be made public.
In addition, the deputy urged the competent authorities to pay attention to the work of other similar institutions to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents.
It is worth noting that the GKNB had previously reported the discovery of cases of abuse in the rehabilitation center "Path to Life" in Bishkek, where up to 80,000 soms were charged monthly from the patients' relatives for "treatment." As a result, a criminal case was initiated, and the center's activities were suspended.
