On February 3, 2026, a meeting of the interdepartmental commission (IDC) was held at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic. Representatives from more than ten different ministries and agencies, as well as deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, gathered for the event.
The main focus of the meeting was on issues related to improving the environmental situation in the country. In particular, the implementation of the electronic taxi service in Bishkek, the current state and prospects of gasification in the capital and Chui region, as well as the development of an air quality monitoring system, including the installation and modernization of monitoring sensors, were discussed.
The implementation of Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 639 dated October 6, 2025, concerning measures to protect atmospheric air, was also reviewed.
As a result of the meeting, a decision was made to form an interdepartmental working group, which will be led by the Bishkek city administration to develop electric charging stations in the city.
The National Investment Fund was tasked with considering the proposals of Deputy Dastan Bekeshev in the implementation of the ecological taxi project to ensure the service's accessibility for people with disabilities.
Additionally, the company OsOO "Gazprom Kyrgyzstan" was recommended to expedite the gasification process in Bishkek and other regions of the country. IDC members emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to improving air quality and called for the acceleration of key environmental projects and strengthening control over the implementation of adopted decisions.
