The issue of easing the stay duration for foreign citizens with close relatives who are citizens of Kyrgyzstan was raised by Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Dastan Bekeshev. He presented a draft amendment to the Law "On External Migration," which is currently under public discussion.

As part of the proposed amendment to Article 6, it is planned to abolish the existing restriction that allows foreigners to stay in the country without a visa for no more than 60 days within a 120-day period. This innovation will enable foreigners with families in Kyrgyzstan to stay in the country longer without fearing a re-entry ban.

As stated in the explanatory note, the initiative aims to protect the right to family life, prevent humanitarian conflicts, and eliminate the consequences of the incorrect application of migration norms. Examples are provided of cases where citizens with stable family ties in Kyrgyzstan were mistakenly subjected to entry restrictions due to technical errors in tracking their stay durations.

Furthermore, the draft law takes into account international practices and provisions of the Digital Code. The implementation of this document will not require financial expenditures from the republican budget.

The text of the draft law is available for public discussion on the Jogorku Kenesh website.
