Three Minor Children Drowned in Sokuluk
Reports indicate that the police received a signal about the incident, after which an investigative operational group was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered the bodies of the children, which were retrieved from the water, but unfortunately, they had already shown no signs of life by the time emergency medical services arrived.
As investigators found out, the children often played together, as their families lived nearby and were relatives. The canal was located about 300 meters from their homes and was used for irrigating agricultural plots. There were no barriers, and the edges of the canal were covered with ice. Throughout the day, no one noticed the children's absence. One of the children, M. I., also born in 2021, could not speak and went to his mother, K. N., trying to tell her what had happened. Not understanding him, she followed him and, approaching the canal, saw the drowned children, after which she screamed for help.
The bodies of the children were taken to the morgue for forensic examinations. An investigation is currently ongoing, and a decision will be made based on the results in accordance with current legislation.
