The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has announced statistics on crimes related to children who are left without parental supervision due to migration.

At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on international issues, Deputy Minister of the MIA Nurbek Abdieyev spoke about the ongoing monitoring and analysis of the situation concerning children whose parents are abroad. He noted that research is conducted both on the number of children registered and on the number of crimes committed against them.

According to the data presented by the agency, cases of violence against 39 children who are under the care of relatives have been registered. Violence is typically perpetrated by stepfathers, close relatives, and neighbors.

Additionally, situations were mentioned where both parents leave the country, leaving children in the care of grandmothers or other family members. In such cases, MIA employees, together with social workers, organize field inspections.

There have also been incidents where children left unsupervised left their homes and were alone for several days, experiencing violence.

Deputy Gula Kozhokulova proposed that the General Prosecutor's Office hold a coordination meeting focused on issues concerning migrant children left without supervision. She emphasized that this issue should be addressed separately and as a priority during the report of the General Prosecutor.
