However, Ulan Bakasov expressed dissatisfaction with the report and asked questions about the number of registered citizens and the assistance provided. The Consul General could not provide specific figures, which puzzled the deputy, who ultimately voiced the data from the report himself.
After that, Bakasov asked whether Koshonov spoke the Kyrgyz language. The Consul General confirmed this but noted that most citizens usually approached with legal questions and requests for help in obtaining documents, adding that it would be easier for him to answer questions in Russian.
After the Consul General answered the questions, the deputy addressed Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev, demanding that the Kyrgyz language become mandatory for all diplomats.
“Our Consul General in Antalya must know the Kyrgyz language. There are citizens, like me, who came from villages. How do you communicate with them? Not everyone is from the cities; many came from the countryside,” Bakasov noted.
Minister Kulubaev responded that every diplomat should be proficient in the Kyrgyz language. He added that although some diplomats face difficulties with the language, work in this direction is ongoing, and since the opening of the consulate, the situation for Kyrgyz citizens in Antalya has improved: issues related to "cargo 200," protection of labor rights, and others are now resolved on-site.
After that, the deputy continued to ask questions but remained dissatisfied with the answers.
