In Kyzyl-Kiya, according to the latest data, the number of newborns decreased last year, while the number of deaths increased. Nevertheless, the overall population of the city has grown. This information was presented at the 21st session of the Kyzyl-Kiya city council (VIII convocation).

At the meeting, Zhyrgal Kadyrov, the head of the primary healthcare center, reported on the current situation and confirmed that compared to the previous year, the city's population increased by 800 people.

He also noted that there is a decrease in the number of births and an increase in mortality. City council member Jalalidin Sultanov asked how the number of residents could increase under such conditions.

According to the provided data, in 2024, 900 children were born in the city, while in 2025, there were 852. The number of deaths was 195 in 2024 and 206 in 2025. As a result, the population grew from 64,034 (in 2024) to 64,834 (in 2025).

Zhyrgal Kadyrov explained that the population growth is related to the renovation of the hospital: for six months, work was carried out there, causing some women to give birth in other settlements. According to him, after mudflow events, the institution requires annual restoration work, including basement cleaning and other repairs, which leads residents to seek care in other medical facilities.
