According to the latest survey data conducted by YouGov and published by the British publication The Economist, President Donald Trump's approval rating has reached record lows during his second term.
Only 38% of Americans view Trump's performance positively, while 56% expressed their dissatisfaction.
Thus, the difference between those who approve and those who disapprove of the president's actions stands at minus 18%. For comparison, at the start of his second term, this figure was only two percent.

The authors of the study emphasize that public sentiment continues to deteriorate. On the 378th day of his presidency, the share of citizens who believe that the U.S. is moving in the right direction has decreased from 37% to 31%. At the same time, the number of those who are convinced of the opposite has increased from 50% to 60%.

Particular attention is given to the decline in Trump's support among independent voters—a key electoral group. According to the survey, his approval rating among this category of citizens has fallen to a record low for his entire second term.

The drop in ratings is linked to public dissatisfaction regarding the fulfillment of two main campaign promises made by the president: combating inflation and ending illegal immigration.
The majority of respondents are confident that the administration has not achieved significant success in these areas.
Moreover, public opinion is also negatively impacting the foreign policy agenda. According to several surveys, nearly half of Americans express criticism of the White House's policies on international security issues, including its approach to the conflict in Ukraine.

Experts emphasize that such pronounced dissatisfaction at an early stage of the second term could hinder the advancement of the president's initiatives and strengthen the opposition's position in Congress ahead of the midterm elections.
