The problem of illegal dumps in Kyrgyzstan remains relevant. This was reported by the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, Meder Mashiev, at a meeting of the Agrarian Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh.
He noted that the state plans to carry out a number of activities to address this issue.
“During the reform of the ATR, we managed to reduce the number of illegal dumps from 411 to 290. We are actively working in this direction and have implemented new rules for organizing waste landfills, which are being transferred to local authorities,” he added.
The Deputy Minister also reported that the issue with the landfill in Bishkek was resolved thanks to the construction of a waste processing plant.
“We plan to organize the removal of waste to this plant from the entire Chui region, which will allow us to increase its production capacity,” he concluded.
