The deputy proposed to revoke licenses from universities that do not provide students with accommodation.
She emphasized that the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations should make the appropriate decision.
“During the Soviet era, no student was left without accommodation in dormitories, which had libraries, cafeterias, and other amenities. Studying took place without unnecessary worries. Currently, students are forced to take on part-time jobs, facing high housing prices, which deprives them of time and energy for their studies. Universities should provide dormitories for both students on a free basis and those who pay for their education. If an institution cannot provide such facilities, it should not accept students. Licenses should be revoked from those who are unable to provide housing,” she stated.
In addition, the deputy proposed creating crisis centers to assist students who find themselves in difficult life situations.
