Deputy of the Housing Committee proposes to combat divorces with separate dormitories for students
During his speech, he provided statistics: in 2025, 45,000 marriages were registered in Kyrgyzstan, of which 13,000 ended in divorce.
“This means that every third couple gets divorced, which is a serious problem. In this regard, I propose to consider the construction of dormitories where girls and boys will live separately. In Bishkek, the rent for an apartment currently costs 40,000-50,000 soms, which is a significant burden for students. Such dormitories could serve as social housing, helping to minimize undesirable phenomena related to marriage,” Saginayev noted.
These ideas were voiced by the deputy to the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev during the discussion on the development of youth policy in the country.
