In Kyrgyzstan, more money has started to be allocated from the budget for youth policy
According to him, last year the budget for these purposes was only 4 million soms, while this year the amount has increased to 50 million soms.
The ministry is also allocating funds for the implementation of youth initiatives through the state social order.
“Since 2023, we have started holding competitions among youth organizations to select the best projects, which receive funding of up to 1 million soms. In 2025, 11 projects were supported with a total amount of 10 million soms,” the deputy minister added.
Marat Tagaev emphasized that the concept of the youth movement of Kyrgyzstan has been introduced into legislation, and its first kurultai took place in 2024. Currently, there are 86 representations of the youth movement operating in the country, and youth councils have also been established at local self-government bodies. According to the deputy minister, these organizations, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, implement various events and projects.
In the deputy minister's report, the concept of youth policy for 2020-2030 was also mentioned, within which numerous activities aimed at developing the potential of youth, improving employment conditions, and strengthening the educational base are being carried out.
Additionally, a national study titled “Index of Well-Being and Development of Youth in Kyrgyzstan” is conducted every two years. The last one was conducted in 2025, and the results were presented in January 2026.
Marat Tagaev detailed to the deputies the competitions held for youth, as well as the national and international projects in which young Kyrgyzstanis participate and their contributions to various fields.
As of 2025, there were 2 million 519 thousand citizens aged 14 to 35 living in Kyrgyzstan.
