The youth population in Kyrgyzstan has reached 2 million 519 thousand people, as reported by Marat Tagaev, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy. This statement was made at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with science, education, innovations, culture, sports, and youth affairs.

According to Tagaev, youth accounts for 31.6% of the total population of the country. In this group, there are 1 million 265 thousand young men and 1 million 253 thousand young women, aged between 14 and 35 years.

He also reminded about the adoption of a new Law "On Youth" in 2023, which raised the age limit for youth from 28 to 35 years, in line with international standards. In the same year, the Law "On Volunteering" was adopted.

Additionally, Kyrgyzstan is implementing the Concept of State Youth Policy for the period from 2020 to 2030. In 2024, the country joined the UN Security Council Resolution No. 2250 "Youth, Peace, and Security" and developed a national plan for its implementation.
