The Days of Kyrgyz Cinema Opened in Astana

The Days of Kyrgyz Cinema were opened in Astana, organized by the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Kazakhstan in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kyrgyzstan's Ambassador Kudaibergen Bazarbaev emphasized that the Kazakh audience shows a constant interest in Kyrgyz cinema, noting that the film "Paradise at the Feet of Mothers" became the highest-grossing film in Kazakhstan in 2024.

The Deputy Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sabit Barlybaev, pointed out the importance of cultural exchange and highlighted the high standards of professionalism among Kyrgyz filmmakers.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, heads of diplomatic missions, the Kyrgyz diaspora, as well as students from Kyrgyzstan studying in Astana under academic exchange programs.

The first film shown was "Black, Red, Yellow" by director Aktan Arym Kubat, which was screened to a full house and generated significant interest among the audience. This event received extensive coverage in the media of Kazakhstan.

Additionally, on January 30, as part of the Days of Kyrgyz Cinema, the drama "Fugitive" is scheduled to be shown.
