According to preliminary data, the population of Kyrgyzstan has exceeded 7 million 300 thousand people. This information was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov at a meeting of the parliamentary groups "Eldik" and "Ala-Too" in the Jogorku Kenesh.
He clarified that final data will be available later, after the clarification processes are completed. However, it is already known that about 4 million residents, which constitutes 57% of the total number, are registered in rural areas.
Edil Baisalov also noted that the demographic situation in the country shows a stable population growth with a predominance of youth. According to preliminary data, the number of children and adolescents under the age of 18 is approximately 1.8 million.
