According to the press service of the State Committee for National Security, a case of extortion by inspector K. A. A. was recorded in mid-January, who was detained at the crime scene while receiving a bribe of 500,000 soms.
The case materials indicate that the Main Investigation Department of the GKNB decided to conduct a re-examination of compliance with tax legislation at the alcohol plant, which was assigned to the GNS under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.
This re-examination was led by the chief inspector of the GNS audit department, K. A. A., who worked on it from December 12 to December 26, 2024, and prepared the corresponding act. As a result of the audit, an additional tax of 1,325,288,805 soms was assessed.
However, K. A. A. began to delay the re-examination process and obstructed the submission of the results to the GKNB, realizing that the materials from his audit could be used in a criminal case against the founders of the alcohol plant.
On January 14, 2025, according to the investigation, a representative of the plant met with K. A. A. at the central office of the GNS to obtain the signed act. At that moment, the inspector extorted 1,400,000 soms, later reducing the amount to 500,000 soms for signing the act.
On the same day, after part of the sum was handed over in the parking lot of a supermarket, K. A. A. was detained by GKNB officers. During a personal search, the inspector voluntarily handed over the received money.
The senior prosecutor of the Bishkek prosecutor's office, in a cassation appeal, requested to change the sentences of the courts, reclassifying the actions of the convicted person to part 3 of article 343 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic "Extortion of a bribe in a particularly large amount," with a sentence of imprisonment and confiscation of property.
The lawyer of the convicted person, in turn, insisted on the cancellation of the sentences and the issuance of an acquittal, arguing that the charges were not proven during the court proceedings.
