We were able to regain "Kumtor" and protect the interests of the country — Akylbek Japarov
In the documentary film "Five Years - The Beginning of a New Era," former Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov stated that Kyrgyzstan managed to regain control over the gold deposit "Kumtor," thereby protecting national interests. "In 2022, we completed the process of transferring 'Kumtor' into the hands of the state. This event became a symbol of restoring the dignity of the people of Kyrgyzstan," he emphasized.
He added that during negotiations with the transnational company Centerra, the state was able to demonstrate its ability to defend the nation's interests.
The film, which was presented to a wide audience, is dedicated to the five-year term of Sadyr Japarov's presidency and his achievements.
The documentary material highlights the significance of Sadyr Japarov's presidency, the major reforms being implemented in the country, the fight against crime and corruption, as well as the process of returning national resources to the people and the economic progress of the country.
