New infection control measures have been implemented at Manas International Airport. Special equipment that operates in real-time is used to monitor passengers' body temperature.

According to the press service of the State Enterprise "Airports of Kyrgyzstan," these measures have been taken to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases, including COVID-19 and the Nipah virus, which was recently detected in India.

It should be noted that this equipment was installed at the country's main airport back in 2021, but its use remains relevant in light of current epidemiological threats.

If a passenger is found to have a temperature above 37 degrees, the control zone staff contacts the Center for Quarantine and Especially Dangerous Infections to take necessary measures, as reported by the press service.

After that, the passenger is directed to a specialized center where necessary tests for diagnosis are conducted. If they are found to have the flu or a cold, they are provided with outpatient treatment at home. In the case of detecting a more serious virus, actions are taken according to the center's instructions.

It is worth noting that Kyrgyzstan has recently imposed a temporary restriction on the import of animals susceptible to the Nipah virus from India, as well as animal products.
