Gulya Kozhokulova, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, criticized the measures introduced by the National Bank regarding currency exchange. According to her, recently, if the exchange amount exceeds 100,000 soms, citizens are required to provide certificates of the origin of their funds.

She emphasized that such requirements create additional bureaucratic barriers for both ordinary citizens and businesses.

“Currently, there are salaries reaching 100,000 soms, and in some cases, for example, in the Ministry of Construction, even up to 500,000 soms - 500,000 soms. Thus, when going to the bank for currency exchange, people need to provide additional documents. It is important to understand why such restrictions are being introduced and how this relates to digitalization? Why is the National Bank not informing small and medium-sized businesses?” Kozhokulova noted.

In the deputy's opinion, such restrictions are inappropriate, and this issue should be discussed at a meeting of the budget committee of the Jogorku Kenesh for their possible removal.
