Surabaldiyeva asks to declare an amnesty for cars purchased by power of attorney
She reported that thousands of citizens are facing this problem and cannot find the previous owners of their vehicles.
Surabaldiyeva cited a specific case where one driver, heading to Issyk-Kul, was stopped, his car was checked, after which it was taken to a tow lot, leaving the driver on the street. This car was also purchased by proxy. According to her, some cars have been sitting in tow lots for several years, and the costs for their maintenance range from 100 to 150 soms per day. The storage fees have reached significant amounts, and some owners are even considering not retrieving their vehicles. She appealed to the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Erkebek Ashirkhodzhaev, to consider the possibility of amnesty, noting that most of these cars were purchased before the changes in legislation that abolished the registration of proxies.
