The city of Kara-Balta is taking a step towards modernizing street lighting by installing new devices called "time relays." These devices help automate the lighting control process and reduce electricity consumption.

The head of the lighting sector of the municipal enterprise "Universal," Kamchibek Esenbaev, shared information about this project.

According to him, the installation work for the "time relays" is actively ongoing. Currently, the equipment has already been installed on 10 electric meters for street lighting, covering about 30 streets in the city. In the near future, there are plans to install devices at all 70 accounting points managed by the enterprise.

The "time relay" system is set to turn on street lighting at 6:00 PM and turn it off at 10:00 PM. Morning lighting is also provided—it turns on around 6 AM to ensure light for those heading to work or engaging in morning activities. After sunrise, the lamps automatically turn off, contributing to electricity savings.

At the moment, the new system is mainly functioning on the eastern side of the city, including streets such as L. Tolstoy, Zhambyl, Cosmic, Sverdlov, Liza Chaikina, as well as the Bakai quarter. The installation of "time relays" will continue on 40 Years of Kyrgyzstan Street, and further plans include covering the entire city," added Esenbaev.
