Nurlanbek Turgunbek Uulu is dissatisfied with the government's work due to rising service prices.
At a recent parliamentary meeting, Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu noted that citizens of the country have been expressing increasing dissatisfaction regarding the rise in prices for services, especially in areas such as cafes, restaurants, taxis, and household services. He reported that many people associate this price increase with decisions made by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Speaker emphasized that after the cancellation of service charges in restaurants and cafes, owners simply added these 10-15 percent to the price of dishes.
“No special mental effort is required here — they just raised the cost of the menu. As a result, businesses benefited, while ordinary citizens felt no advantage,” noted Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu.
He added that such measures should only be taken after a thorough analysis of the situation, not spontaneously, so that the population does not suffer. According to him, currently, prices for services in Kyrgyzstan in some cases exceed the price levels in major world cities, which causes serious dissatisfaction.
In this regard, the Speaker announced that in February, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers will be invited to the Jogorku Kenesh to explain the reasons for the price increase and the functioning of the service sector.
It should be noted that the initiative to cancel service charges in restaurants and cafes came from the deputies of the parliament themselves.
