FSB to Gain the Right to Temporarily Disconnect Mobile and Landline Internet
According to the new amendments to the law "On Communications," proposed by the government, communication operators will be required to temporarily block all services at the request of the FSB if necessary to protect the "security of citizens and the state," and will not be held financially liable to subscribers for such actions.
Information about the preparation of these amendments emerged back in November. Before the discussion in the State Duma, the Telegram channel Faridaily noted that these amendments effectively allow the FSB to disconnect any communication – both mobile internet and landline services, including telephone services.
