The Ministry of Culture presented three options for the new anthem of Kyrgyzstan.
The Minister of Culture, Mirbek Mambetaliev, reported that from February 7 to March 20, about 700 proposals were received from citizens. However, the commission, after analyzing all the works, concluded that none of them met the established requirements, and the competition was canceled. As a result, it was decided to conduct the competition in two stages: in the first stage, five texts were selected, and in the second — musical compositions for these texts. Ultimately, five texts with music were chosen, three of which were presented for discussion by the deputies.
To ensure transparency and objectivity, the names of the authors and composers are not disclosed, and all works are considered under a code, as the minister clarified. The deputies reviewed the presented options for the anthem.
The chairman of the committee, Kurmankul Zulushiev, noted that all three proposed options do not surpass the current anthem in terms of text, content, and musical arrangement, and therefore cannot be considered complete.
As a result of the discussion, the committee recommended that the Jogorku Kenesh reject all three options for the text and music of the new national anthem.
