
A ceremonial reception was held in Bishkek, organized by the Indian Embassy in honor of the 77th anniversary of Republic Day, where the transfer of modern medical equipment for cancer treatment to Kyrgyzstan was announced.
Representatives from various government structures, diplomats, and cultural figures attended the event.
The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to Kyrgyzstan, Birender Singh Yadav, announced plans to send a group of Kyrgyz military personnel to India for training in mountain warfare.
He also emphasized that in 2026, when Kyrgyzstan will chair the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), cooperation between the two countries will become particularly active. The ambassador confirmed India's full support for Kyrgyzstan's initiatives during this chairmanship.


Birender Singh Yadav noted that despite the relatively low level of trade turnover, there is significant potential for its increase between the countries. In this context, he emphasized the importance of promptly concluding negotiations on a free trade agreement between India and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Additionally, memorandums of understanding were signed for two projects: "Establishment of an IT laboratory at the Kyrgyz Economic University" and "Improvement of the technical base and infrastructure of the General Practice Center in the Leilek District of the Batken Region." These initiatives are aimed at improving the lives of the local population.
The Indian side announced its intention to transfer the Siddharth II linear accelerator, which will help strengthen Kyrgyzstan's capabilities in treating cancer diseases.
There are also plans to replace the cobalt-60 source for the Bhabhatron II device, which was previously gifted to the National Center for Oncology and Hematology in Bishkek.
The Indian ambassador expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz government for creating safe conditions for the Indian diaspora, especially for medical students, emphasizing their contribution to strengthening friendship between the peoples of the two countries.


Deputy Foreign Minister Almaz Imangaziev emphasized that over the years of cooperation, Kyrgyzstan and India have established strong bilateral relations based on equality, trust, and mutual interests. He noted that interaction between the countries continues to develop in political, trade-economic, educational, cultural, and medical spheres.
Furthermore, the official pointed to the opening of a direct flight from Bishkek to Delhi, operated by the Kyrgyz airline TezJet, as an example of the mutual interest of the peoples in expanding connections.
