Every day, 70-100 homeless people use the services of "Kolomto"
Funding for "Kolomto" is provided from the local budget. The center offers temporary overnight accommodation and provides free single-use meals, allocating 70 soms per day for each client. In addition to this, medical examinations are organized, which include fluorography, blood tests for the Wassermann reaction and HIV, as well as primary sanitary treatment, such as washing, wound treatment, and changing clothes.
The municipal institution "Kolomto" also provides humanitarian clothing to the homeless and assists elderly people in placement in nursing institutions. Each year, the center's services reach about 1,500 citizens without housing.
By the end of 2024, social services were provided to 2,442 people without a fixed place of residence. Of these, 284 were able to restore their documents, 149 returned to their families, 74 were sent to stationary institutions, and 1,110 underwent outpatient treatment.
With the arrival of winter, temporary shelters open in Bishkek, which accept up to 100 homeless individuals daily.
One of the key areas of "Kolomto's" work is the implementation of reintegration programs for homeless individuals into society. Plans also include identifying a land plot and designing an urban rehabilitation center for the homeless.
In the future, the construction and equipping of a new rehabilitation center for 200 places is anticipated, which will provide a wide range of social and rehabilitation services for individuals without a fixed place of residence.
