The deputy urged the Ministry of Construction to pay attention to the needs of children with autism and Down syndrome.
During the discussion, Deputy Kurmanalieva emphasized the importance of creating not only general education schools but also specialized institutions for children with disabilities. She pointed out that the number of children with Down syndrome and autism in the country is increasing.
In her opinion, such children do not have the opportunity to study in regular schools and kindergartens. "Creating educational institutions for them in regional centers would be a significant step. Not all families can afford private education. I am ready to offer my ideas and assistance in developing criteria for the construction of such schools. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that among my relatives, there are children with such diagnoses, and they cannot attend schools due to the lack of appropriate conditions," she noted. The deputy also added that solving this problem requires a comprehensive approach involving the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, as qualified specialists need to be prepared to work in such institutions.
